Dahlak is an Eritrean restaurant in Bergamo born from the dream of sharing our cultura, our flavors, and the warmth of our land. The name is inspired by the Eritrean archipelago of the Dahlak Islands, a fascinating place in the Red Sea, rich in history and tradition.

It all began in 1996, when we brought the traditional cuisine of Eritrea to popular fairs in Northern Italy, such as “Spirito del Pianeta” in Chiuduno. In 2006, in the heart of the historic Borgo Palazzo, we opened a small ethnic deli that, in 2014, became the current Dahlak restaurant.

With passion and dedication, we’ve turned every dish into a bridge between cultures, every lunch into a meeting, and every dinner into a moment of sharing. 

Dahlak is more than just a restaurant: it’s a place where Eritrean cuisine is lived, savored, and passed on.

Today, our menu tells our story: injera, zighinì, African spices, and a warm family welcome.
